2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup: Match Report – Merciless Iran roast Lebanon in 9-goal thriller
12-time champions Iran run riot at Lebanon after beating them 9-0 in the last group game at the Saad Al Abdullah Hall, Sabah Al Salem, Kuwait in the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup.
Salar Aghapour delivered a stunning shot that beat the Lebanese goalkeeper to score the first goal for the title holders.
Captain Hossein Tayebibidgoli should have added the second for Iran inside the 12th minute but he fired wide from a great space.
In the 13th minute, Iran should have doubled their lead as Alireza Javan Shahkhali watched his goal-bound effort blocked off the line by Kassem Kawsan – Lebanon’s captain.
Hossein Tayebibidgoli increased the tally for Iran in the 16th minute moments after Javan Shahkhali had tested the strength of the goalpost with a blinder.
After Hossein’s strike, the goals started raining and SAEID AHMAD ABBASI was the next player to get the fans to commence their drum-beating and dancing again as he slotted the ball home for the third goal of the game.
Forward Moslem Oladghobad added the 4th with yet another powerful shot.
It took just a minute inside the second period for Jafari Brahman to score the 5th goal for the champions.
Oladghobad set up the 6th goal for Mohammadhossen Bazyar who slid himself into the area to connect the ball home.
Soon it was time for Karimi Mahdi to add his name to the score sheet as he drove an effort home from the center circle.
Salar Aghapour added the 8th goal from a close-range tap-in.
Hossein Tayebibidgoli scored again to complete a tremendous night for the Cheetahs.
