2022 FIFA World Cup: Reports – Portugal 3-2 Ghana – Petty tactical flaws cost Black Stars in Doha

Ghana’s Black Stars succumbed to a 3-2 loss to Portugal on Thursday in a Group H game at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Doha.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Portugal with a 65th-minute penalty kick. However, Andre Ayew arrived at the right place and time to connect home a Mohammed Kudus low cross.

Ayew’s goal came just 8 minutes after Ronaldo’s opener.

Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix broke the lines to add the second goal to restore the lead for the Iberians before Rafael Leao netted the insurance goal, leaving Osman Bukari’s 89th-minute header to remain just a consolation goal.

With other results in Group H, Ghana have now dropped to the bottom of the table with 0 points.
