Kwame Dwomoh-Agyemang: Legon Cities denies owing players for 7 months [Silver FM]

Ghana Premier League club Legon Cities have quickly reacted to reports claiming that player salaries are in 7-month outstanding.

Widely publicised reports on social media claimed the Royals have not paid their players for over half a year while attributing the 5-1 drubbing at the Theatre of Dreams against Dreams FC as one of the reasons.

Reacting to the reports on Kumasi-based Silver FM, Head of Communications for the club Kwame Dwomoh-Agyemang debunked the reports.

“By the ethics of the profession, at least you get in touch with us for clarification on issues but unfortunately, because of likes on social media, some just put some of these stories out and when you threaten to sue them, they begin to plead,” he said.

“Let’s debunk these stories. I don’t know why some of these stories find their way to the media space. It’s most unfortunate but I don’t want to add anything to it, let’s ignore some of theses stories,” he added.

Maxwell Konadu’s side have been inconsistent in the season, winning just 9 of their 29 games while drawing and losing 10 games apiece – amassing 37 points in the process.

Cities won the Ghana Premier League title in 2016 under Enos Adepa but have failed to replicate their form in recent seasons.
