Black Sherif Sued By Former Manager

Black Sherif’s former manager has filed a lawsuit against the rapper at the Accra High Court.

Snap Chavis Wayne, the ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ hitmaker’s former manager, accused him of leaving him high and dry by signing a record deal with another label, Empire Entertainment, without his permission.

This accusation was made by DJ Slim, who said Black Sherif was a jerk. DJ Slim claimed that the musician had given up a seven-bedroom mansion, a car, and other personal belongings that his manager had made available to him for his personal use.

In a document that has made its way to social media, the lawsuit was filed on Monday, April 11, 2022 and Black Sherif is expected to respond to the suit in eight days.

In other filings, Black Sherif’s former manager, Snap, is requesting an injunction barring him from playing at any event until the issue is solved.

The defendant is also requesting an injunction on the rapper’s funds earned from streaming and other revenue streams.

He’s asking for “an order for the appointment of a receiver to receive any and all funds that may accrue to the Defendant/Respondent from the use and exploitation of his music and image,” as well as “an order for the appointment of a receiver to receive any and all funds that may accrue to the Defendant/Respondent from the use and exploitation of his music and image.”

On Monday, May 9, 2022, the court is slated to hear the injunction case.

The fast-rising musician faced public anger in February and early March after it was claimed that he signed a record deal with another company, Empire Entertainment, without his Management’s consent.

Many people chastised the burgeoning music act for his behavior when the subject reached the court of public opinion. However, Madonna, the current manager of Black Sherif, refuted the charges in an interview with ‘Da Don’ on Hitz FM.

He also stated that the alleged Manager accusing Black Sherif of abandoning him is just a financier who came on board after the release of ‘Second Sermon.’
