Ghana Post MD, Obour, delivers parcels on Val’s Day
Managing Director of Ghana Post, Bice Osei Kuffour, hit the road to personally deliver parcels to clients on Valentine’s Day.
Mr. Osei Kuffour, popularly known as Obour has been engaging in this act since he assumed office last year. But he took it a notch higher on February 14.
He rode the Ghana Post motor through the principal streets of Accra, delivering gifts to notable personalities including First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, Communication Minister, Ursula Owusu, and Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.
After receiving his customized gift from the Ghana Post team, the Chief Justice requested the use of the courier in transporting court documents speedily and securely.
Also, the Information Minister, who was full of praise, mentioned how his office has already engaged the services of the courier company. He urged his colleague ministers and other institutions to also do the same.
“We believe that as a ministry, a lot of the dispatches that we send around will need to be sent very quickly, securely and in a manner that we are sure we will get to the right person and that will have to be done through you.”
“We encourage our colleagues across ministries, departments and agencies as well as those in the private sector to employ your services when it comes to speedy, secure delivery of parcels and necessary confidential items.”
According to Mr Kuffour, Ghana Post is delivering parcels in Accra and Tema at a rate of GH₵20 in February.
He is hopeful “the initiative will bring on board many new clients for the post office so as to generate revenue and also increase visibility.”
At the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Commissioner General, Mr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, charged the post office to observe current trends in post-delivery across the world and emulate the applicable ones in Ghana.
“A lot of things are changing especially when it comes to post communication service. And it is important that you quickly change alongside and you see the opportunities that are there so that when things are moving from the normal post to other types of communication, we move along. There might be other better opportunities we knew before,” he added.
