DBG partners UGBS to deepen development finance

The Development Bank Ghana (DBG) has partnered with the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) to deepen development finance knowledge, innovations and its impact.
This strategic move, the bank believes will bridge the gap between industry practice and academia through the provision of thought provoking leadership capabilities geared towards offering support for a youth –driven entrepreneurial space.
Speaking on the sidelines of the DBG- UGBS Development Finance Dialogue Series in Accra, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Development Bank Ghana, Michael Mensah- Baah said the bank is committed to partnering with agencies that inspire innovations that has the potential of transforming economy,ic growth.
“We believe that through partnership like the one we have signed with University of Ghana; we will be able to understand the challenges out there and ensure that the interventions that we put in place will actually address the core issues of economic growth,” he said.
“One of the key deliverables of this partnership is around research. The power of research is critical for any development financial institution to ensure that you are able to use evidence based research to identify some of the core challenges being faced,” he added.
On her part, the Vice Chancellor of the University Of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo expressed optimism that the partnership will inure to the benefits of both parties.
“I therefore hold in high esteem the partnership between DBG which seeks to collaborate with UG on research. I strongly believe this research will be very impactful and yield mutual benefits for both parties and for our nation for the continent at large,”
The Roundtable Meeting, themed “Deepening Development Finance Knowledge, Innovations and Impact”, is a key highlight of the partnership between DBG and UGBS. The event featured prominent speakers such as Mr. Michael Mensah-Baah, Deputy CEO of DBG, Mr. Daniel Addo, CEO of CBG and Prof. Vera Ogeh Fiador, Associate Professor of Finance at UGBS
