Dormaa falls in love with Andre Ayew as Black Stars captain reignites passions among football lovers after excelling in the All Stars Festival event

Ghana captain Andre Ayew once again stoke the interest of football fans in Dormaa Ahenkro as the superstar thrilled fans in the All Stars Festival event.

Dropping passions for football in Dormaa had become apparent following Aduana Stars’ unconvincing form in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League and their failure to grab any silverware this season.

Ayew led a team of star-studded players including ex-AS Roma starlet Felix Afena-Gyan, Crystal Palace’s Jordan Ayew, Wakaso Mubarak, and several others.

The 2011 BBC African Football Player of the Year Award winner provided moments of thrills and excitement for the local fans.

Though he scored and set up a goal for his side in the game, the former Nottingham Forest forward extended his great bond with fans to activities off the field was he was seen interacting and engaging with fans and the locals in the town who troops the center of attraction to catch a glimpse of the Ghana skipper.

The Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, enstooled Ayew as the Chief of the town for the period he spent there.


Ayew, who is Ghana’s all-time highest appearance maker with 114 games, presented a customized jersey of Nottingham to the Paramount King in a brief ceremony.

Furthermore, the King stated that the first male child born in Dormaa Ahenkro on Thursday evening would be named after the Ghana captain.

He pledged to give a lifetime scholarship to the first male child.
