Playback: PM Express discuss whether US is interfering in the passage of anti-LGBTQI bill

Presently, the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, popularly known as the Anti-LGBTQ bill is before Parliament.

The bill seeks to criminalise Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) activities in the country.

However, International organizations have raised concerns that the bill could infringe on the rights of LGBTQ+ persons who are a minority group in the country.

Although the bill is at the consideration stage in Parliament, the Attorney-General says portions are unconstitutional.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo during his joint press conference with the US Vice President appears to have softened the country’s stance on the passing of the bill stating that the substantial elements in the bill have been modified after the Attorney General’s intervention.

It is on the back of the development JoyNews’ PM Express holds the discussion tonight.
