2022/23 English Premier League runner-ups Arsenal have reportedly expressed interest in Ghana attacker Joseph Paintsil.
Paintsil, 25, bagged 18 goals in all competitions and provided 12 assists as Genk finished second in the Jupiler Pro League.
The Ghana international has been at the center of attention since Paul Onuachu traded the Cegeka Arena for Southampton in January.
Arsenal scouts were present at the Jan Breydel Stadion a fortnight ago to monitor the performance of the former Tema Youth attacker. The Arsenal scouts were left overly impressed with the show of the Ghanaian as he bagged a brace in the tie which Genk won 3-1.
The club’s hierarchy has settled on a decision to officially launch a bid to sign the Ghanaian.
Paintsil has spent 4 seasons at Genk.
