Ex-Elmina Sharks forward Benjamin Bernard Boateng scores brace off the bench for Al Ittihad in Egypt

Former Elmina Sharks striker Benjamin Bernard Boateng climbed off the bench to score a quick brace for Al Ittihad Alexandria in the Egyptian Premier League on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old, who was the main goal source for Sharks in the Ghana Premier League last season, was introduced as a 69th-minute substitute for Angolan forward Paciencia Mabululu.

And, he used his first 3 minutes of the game to register the second goal of the game for Ittihad who were down 4-1 prior to his introduction.

After scoring on the 72nd-minute mark, the gangling forward hit the back of the net again 6 minutes later as his club attempted to stage a comeback.

However, referee Wael Farhan overlooked an obvious penalty incident in the 89th minute which has caused the club to officially write a protest against his performance in the match.

Boateng has now scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist in 18 appearances for Ittihad since his switch from Sharks to the club.
