Ex-Hearts striker Abednego Tetteh narrates how he found out Phobians didn’t pay his SSNIT despite deducting monies [Ghana Sports Page]
Former Hearts of Oak striker Abednego Tetteh has revealed that he recently found out that the former African champions have not been honouring his payments at SSNIT.
Tetteh, who was released by the Phobians in August 2021, is currently considering dragging the 21-time Ghanaian league winners to court over the breaches.
The 32-year-old has been on the books of Kumasi-based King Faisal since leaving the Rainbow Club but is set to take his old club on.
SSNIT is the Social Security and National Insurance Trust, which is an agency of the government of Ghana. Its job description, according to its website, is to administrate the National Pension Scheme and it is required that employers pay contributions to their employees through the SSNIT trust.
In an interview with Ghana Sports Page, Tetteh explained how he discovered that the Phobians had not been paying his SSNI despite deducting the monies from his base salary.
“I spent two years with Hearts of Oak after joining them in 2019 and it was in the contract that 12% percent will be deducted for SSNIT contribution but after two years nothing shows they paid, meanwhile they were deducting it from my salary. I went to the SSNIT office and confirmed it,” He told Ghanasportspage.com.
