EXCLUSIVE: CAF invite this Ghana Premier League star for 2023 CHAN draw in Algeria

CAF, Africa’s football regulating body, have extended an executive invitation to Ghana Premier League star midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu to attend Saturday’s 2022 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Algeria 2022, final draw.

The 31-year-old, who won Saturday’s MVP Award in the Matchday 3 game involving Great Olympics and King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium, will be one of the top dignitaries for the event.

Badu returned to the Ghana Premier League after spending several seasons playing at the top level in Europe and Asia, playing in the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and the Chinese Super League.

The draw will be conducted on Saturday, 01 October 2022 at 19h00 local time (18h00 GMT) at the Opera House, the beautiful architectural building in Algeria’s capital Algiers.

This will be a major milestone in the countdown to next year’s CHAN to be hosted in Algeria between 13 January 2023 and 04 February 2023.

For the first time, 18 countries will participate in the event – an increase from 16 teams.

The participating countries are: Algeria (host country), Morocco, Libya, Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, Niger, Ghana, Cameroon, Congo, DR Congo, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Angola and Madagascar.
