EXCLUSIVE: Kotoko dealt massive blow as Hearts pull strings to land long-term transfer target [Asempa FM SportsNite]

Asante Kotoko have watched their last-ditch attempts to scamper Konadu Yiadom‘s move to Hearts of Oak fail as the lanky center-back completed his transfer to the Phobians.

Asempa FM’s Enoch Worlanyo confirmed the transfer on Monday night on the #SportsNite show and declared the deal was imminent as the two parties reached a deal.

However, Kumasi-based broadcast journalist Edmund Osafo Addo also reported that the representative of the defender had met up with a top official of the Porcupine Warriors in an office complex in Tema on Monday afternoon.

But, Worlanyo revealed more details of the agreement insisting it was nearly impossible for the towering defender to make a U-turn on the transfer.

According to further details released by Worlanyo on the powerful show, the defender had a pre-contract agreement with Hearts of Oak in place as far back as January 2022 and would not renege on his pledge to join the Accra-based giants.

Furthermore, Hearts of Oak received the green light to go ahead with the transfer after WAFA authorised the transfer by signing a release letter on Monday.

According to deep-rooted sources within Hearts of Oak, the player signed a three-year agreement worth GHS200,000 in salaries and a mouth-watering signing-on fee in the region of $40,000.

Hearts are expected to unveil the defender by Wednesday.

The defender already has a solid central defensive partnership with Mohammed Alhassan who is a vice-captain at Hearts of Oak. The two are central defensive partners at the Black Galaxies.
