The Ghana Armwrestling Federation has launched Operation 200 Tables as the world celebrates World Armwrestling Day.
The world celebrates the sport on the 20th of April every year and the Ghanaian federation is taking advantage of the day to drive more awareness about Ghanaian Armwrestling which is ranked No. 2 on the continent.
The Operation 200 Armwrestling Tables is dubbed Buy, Brand, and Donate.
In their quest to encourage participation by communities in the West African nation, the local federation is capitalizing on the day to encourage local investors to help increase awareness and participation in the sport.
President of the federation, Charles Osei Asibey, has explained the rationale behind the campaign.
“In our quest to encourage participation by communities, youth, schools, and institutions, the Federation is launching a campaign to supply facilities to all these institutions. That is the rationale behind the #Operation200Tables campaign. We are appealing to corporate Ghana, partners, and friends to help us buy or fabricate 200 Armwrestling tables within 2 months,” he told Ghana Sports Online.
“This campaign is dubbed, Buy, Brand, and Donate,” he indicated.
The Federation is encouraging organisations and individuals to buy and brand the Armwrestling tables with their company or individual brand identities before donating to the federation for onward transfer to schools, institutions, and communities.
Investors, partners, and friends are encouraged to engage the federation’s Secretariat on 0242229535 to donate a table or tables at ₵2500 each.
