February inflation slows 52.8% to sustain downward trend

The Year on year Inflation for the month of February slowed down to record 52.8 percent.

This is a reduction from the January figure which was influenced by the drop in transportation and other non-food items.

The is the second consecutive time that the figure has dropped in 20 months.

In January 2023, Inflation fell marginally to 53.6%, from 54.1% recorded in December 2022.

Addressing Journalists on the new rate, Government Statistician, Professor Samuel Kobina Annim hinted that reduction is a confirmation of a sustained downward trend in the rate of inflation for the year.
