Ghana 3-1 Zimbabwe: Player ratings from 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Cape Coast

Ghana’s Black Stars recorded an emphatic 3-1 victory over Zimbabwe’s Warriors at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ajax Amsterdam’s Kudus Mohammed hit the opener for Ghana on the 6th-minute mark before Thomas Partey and Andre Ayew got the rest of the goals to seal the victory for the Black Stars before 4,000 fans.

Knowledge Musona had pecked the scoring 1-1 in the 50th minute before Milovan Rajevac’s men took the game to the opposition.

Jojo Wollacott – 6/10

The Swindon Town goalkeeper got the nod to start the game ahead of the more established Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Richard Attah, and youngster Danland Ibrahim.

Daniel Amartey – 7.5/10

The Leicester City man was shifted to right-back as Milovan opted for experience and solidity over youth and inexperience.

Baba Rahman – 6/10

Had a poor start to the game and never really got to warm himself into the game. But, he set up the goal scored by Andre Ayew late in the second half.

Jonathan Mensah – 6.5/10

Formed a crusting partnership with Djiku in central defence.

Alexander Djiku – 6.5/10

The Strasbourg defender committed a penalty. Which was converted by Knowledge Musona.

Thomas Partey – 8/10

Show good energy in 1v1 situations. He destroyed and won balls in midfield. Scored the second goal for the Black Stars with an impressive low drive. He showed great strength and resilience in the middle.

Kudus Mohammed – 8.5/10

The Ajax Amsterdam star opened the scoring for the Black Stars with a slick finish after taking his effort from the edge of the box following a sweet build-up that featured Jordan Ayew.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku – 5.5/10

Proved his quality with a well-taken free-kick on the 33rd-minute mark. He was replaced by Baba Iddrisu in the 60th minute.

Andre Ayew – 7.5/10

Struggled to keep up with the tempo of the game in the early embers as he gave away up passes. But, he grew into the game scored the insurance goal for the Black Stars.

Jordan Ayew – 5/10

The striker is going through trying times in his career at the moment. He was hauled off in the 60th minute as Benjamin Tetteh took his place.

Kamaldeen Sulemana – 6/10

Got on the score-sheet in the 42nd minute after he was played through by Kudus Mohammed but he was flagged offside. He was replaced by Daniel-Kofi Kyereh in the second half.
