Ghana hasn’t beaten Nigeria on their home grounds for 48 years – Bright Yeboah Taylor [Pure FM]

The Black Stars have not recorded a victory over the Super Eagles o Nigerian soil for close to 50 years, according to Ghanaian football historian Bright Yeboah Taylor.

According to the Pure FM Sports presenter, Ghana’s last win in Nigeria dates back to 1974. It was 17th August 1974 in the ECOWAS Cup. Ghana won 1-0 thanks to a strike from the late Kwasi Owusu – Powerhouse.

As the Black Stars take on Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Tuesday evening at the Moshood Abiola Sports Stadium in Abuja in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff second leg fixture.

With Ghana in need of a positive result in Abuja to secure a ticket to the Qatar Mundial, Taylor reveals the Black Stars are yet to win against the Super Eagles in Nigeria for close to 5 decades.

“Ghana hasn’t won against the Super Eagles on Nigerian soil since 1974,” he told OB Trice on Pure FM.
