I am doing this for my wife and kids – Bulldog explains Shatta Wale lawsuit

Artiste manager and entertainment pundit Bullgod has revealed the motivation behind his lawsuit against Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Bullgod highlighted that Shatta Wale had made some defamatory comments against him. He stressed that the lawsuit is simply to put things right and also to clear his name off all the wrong accusations.

“I am doing this for my kids and my wife. No one suffered than my wife”, Bulldog added, while stating further reasons behind the decision to drag to court, Shatta Wale, whom he had very close working relations with.

The decision follows a social media post on November 2, in which Shatta Wale wrote, “Bulldog, since you are bringing out secrets, you will tell Ghanaians what happen to Fenicks (sic) murder!! And I am not joking about this time!!”. The ‘My Level’-hitmaker made other wild allegations that did not sit well with his former manager.

According to the experienced artiste manager, high-profiled personalities such as ex-president John Mahama, whose name was mentioned by Shatta Wale during his rant, is enough reason to take up the matter legally. Last week, Shatta Wale alleged that Bullgod revealed that former President Mahama asked him to procure gun men for a supposed job, among others.

Bullgod says seeking justice at the court of order will not only clear his name, but that of ex-president Mahama too. “For you to insinuate that I bring girls to the former president is not acceptable. He also alleged that I am a hired gunman for the ex-president”, he stressed.

Bulldog added, “I have assured the ex-president that this is something I will handle and I am not ready to let it go. I need to do this because I have a relationship with his family and I need to make sure that his name is cleared.

“I have suffered a lot from that case and I am still suffering form that case”, he painfully revealed, adding that he seeks to put the matter to bed with the lawsuit against Shatta Wale.

Bulldog is demanding that the ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker apologises “on all his social media pages or accounts, make a publication on seven consecutive days”, adding that “such retraction and apology to be vetted and approved by the Plaintiff’s lawyers.”

He is also seeking a perpetual injunction that hinders Shatta Wale from publishing any defamatory comments about him.

Among other things, Bulldog is seeking “general damages for defamation, special damages for defamation, punitive damages for malicious publication of falsehood against the plaintiff, cost, and any other orders or remedies that the Court may deem fit.”
