If your name is linked to Kotoko as the CEO it can open doors for you – Fred Achee on Oyerepa FM

Just before Nana Yaw Amponsah was handed the Kotoko top job in 2020, Fred Acheampong, popularly known as Fred Achee, went on radio to describe the Kotoko job as one of the biggest in the world.

In July 2020 during an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Achee described the Kotoko CEO job as one of the biggest football positions in the world.

Three years on, Manhyia, the seat of the authority at the club, has dissolved the Board of the club and the management led by Nana Yaw Amponsah.

Kwame Aboagye Mensah, personal assistant to Kofi Badu, the Chief of Staff of Manhyia, has confirmed the dissolution of the board and management on Accra-based Asempa FM.

Achee’s words back in 2020 has sparked rumours linking him to the job once more with Ghana Sports Online reporting that an ex-board member is lobbying for him to be given the job.

He said: “The Kotoko job is one of the biggest in the world. What I know is that Kotoko is one of the biggest clubs in the world so if your name is linked to it as the CEO or communications director it can open doors for you. It is massive and a big one.”
