Musah Nuhu’s injury return is a big boost for Ghana’s central defence

Ghanaian defender Musah Nuhu tasted his first league game during the weekend since the start of the Swiss Super League and his return to action is a piece of good news for the Black Stars.

Since John Mensah, Isaac Vorsah, and Jerry Akaminko exited the scenes of the Black Stars, Ghana has been struggling to find reliable replacements with several other players who have been on the scene.

Former Black Stars coach James Kwasi Appiah handed an invitation to the former New Edubiase United and WAFA defender but an unfortunate injury situation blocked him from earning his Ghana debut.

During last season’s campaign, the 24-year-old played 11 times for St Gallen in the Super League and went ahead to record some impressive statistics.

During last weekend’s game for Gallen which ended in a 2-1 defeat against UEFA Champions League campaigners Young Boys, the Ghanaian last the entire duration of the match and achieved ratings of 7.6 which was the highest ratings in the game.

His ability to read the game from the back and decisive passes and beautiful tackles won him the admiration of many fans.
