The keys to Salim Adams’ move to FC Cincinnati. What does the deal say?

Ghana Premier League title holders Hearts of Oak have transferred young midfielder, Salim Adams, to American side FC Cincinnati on loan.

The 19-year-old joins the second-string side of the Orange and Blue just weeks after completing a permanent move from New Edubiase United.

Despite parties to the deal keeping the details close to their chest, there are fundamental agreements that happened for the move to become possible.

Hearts had to pay $70,000 to Edubiase to set the tone for the move to happen.

Meanwhile, President of New Edubiase United Abdul Salam Yakubu claimed his outfit turned down a €250,000 offer from the Danish club for the gifted player.

Ghana Sports Online understands that the loan wasn’t a free loan as the 21-time Ghana Premier League title winners pocketed an amount for the initial transfer.

Cincinnati has immediately drafted Adams into their second-string team and would have to impress to break into the senior squad.

The Major League Soccer side can exercise the option for a permanent purchase should they be impressed with his performance at the end of the period.

Salim becomes the first player to arrive at Cincinnati from Hearts as a part of the Common Value Club Alliance which was signed between the three clubs some months ago.

Should the deal be made permanent, Hearts and Edubiase will both benefit financially from the deal.
