The residents have had to deal with days of flooding with schools, hospitals and other public service institutions down while several persons have been displaced.

Currently, they counting their losses due to the extent of devastation caused by the unfortunate incident.

The recession of the flood waters could be attributed to the opening of the Weija estuary and the reduction in the volume of water from the Eastern Region into the Weija Dam.
