Oval Energy distances itself from infractions at Gindabour fuel station

An oil marketing company, Oval Energy Company Limited has dissociated itself from claims that it contributed to infractions in the sale of fuel in the Savannah Region.

Reports had indicated that a filling station was shut down at Gindabour.

The facility, which was found after intelligence operations by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) believed that the station was operating via third party activities.

It was subsequently reported that the station was operating under the sponsorship of Oval Energy Company Limited.

However, the company has taken exception to this claim.

Though Oval Energy supports moves by the regulator to ensure parity in the energy sector, it insists that it has nothing to do with the said breaches.

In a statement signed by Oval’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Praise Awisi Bogobley rejected the assertions.
He insisted that the station in question is under new management now and therefore has no ties to the Oval anymore.

According to Mr. Bogobley, this release happened back in February 1, 2022.

NPA has already been notified about this handover, per the statement.

“As at the time of the said visit to the station, Oval Energy Company Limited had no affiliation whatsoever, with the Gindabour Station or dealer,” portions read.

Finally, Oval expressed its continuous will to comply with the regulations of the NPA and supports its ongoing campaign to clamp down on illegalities within the sector.
