Ghana’s Amaarae Nominated Alongside Tems, Wizkid And Others For 2021 EMA Awards Best African Category

Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter, producer and engineer, Ama Serwah Genfi, artistically known as Amaarae has been nominated in the category of Best African Act at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards.

Known for her work around representation of gender and race in music, Amaarae works over the years has enabled her achieve a high degree of skilled greatness, to that effect merits her nomination at the 2021 MTV Europe Awards.

Joining her on the list is Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, South African record producer and musician Focalistic and the current biggest exports of Afrobeat, Tems and Wizkid representing Nigeria.

The 2021 MTV EMA will take place at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna in Hungary and broadcast live on MTV channels in 180 countries on Sunday, Nov. 14, at 3 p.m. ET. Bruce Gillmer and Richard Godfrey are the show’s executive producers. Debbie Phillips and Chloe Mason are producers.

Voting is now open at www.mtvema.com/en-africa/vote/ until Nov. 10 at 5:59 p.m. ET.
