President of African Paralympic Committee Samson Deen mourns passing of two Para Athletes from Sierra Leone

Samson Deen, President of the African Paralympic Committee, has mourned the passing of two para athletes who met their untimely deaths in a road accident in Sierra Leone.

Deen, who was elected President of the continental body on Monday, has issued a statement to mourn the passing of the duo.

The statement reads:

On the morning of November 6, 2021, I received with shock, the passing of two Para Athletes from Sierra Leone. The two were victims of an accident in the capital of Freetown.

“On behalf of the African Paralympic Committee and the World Para Committee, I would like to express our condolences to the Sierra Leone Paralympic Committee, and above all, to the families, friends, and loved ones of the victims.

“Our thoughts also go out to the injured to whom we wish a prompt and full recovery. The African Paralympic Community expresses its deepest sympathy to all of them at this very painful time”.

“In these moments of great sorrow, we accompany them from a distance and hope that this message can ease their pain and provide them with support and comfort.
