QIC unveils latest brand icon for its Go Girl Insurance Policy
As part of efforts to empower more women and rope in more women to patronize insurance policies in Ghana, Quality Insurance Company (QIC) Limited has unveiled a new brand icon for its Go Girl Insurance Policy.
QIC’s Go-Girl Policy, borne of the company’s flagship policy, Kingly Queenly Comprehensive Motor Insurance, is a vehicle insurance policy with added benefits such as the use of a courtesy car at the time of claim.
Other benefits include facilitating the driver license renewal process at the DVLA prestige centre and one-time complimentary vehicle servicing.
The new ambassador for the policy, Dr. Vanessa Mensah-Kabu is a medical practitioner with over five years experience in the field.
Head of Operations at Quality Insurance Company, Cecil Ribeiro, was optimistic that Dr. Mensah-Kabu as the brand ambassador will help achieve the policy’s operational target of GHS15 million.
“Currently, we’re making about GHS4.7 million. Per our five year strategic plan, that’s by the end of 2025, Go Girl is supposed to bring us about GHS15 million in production which we believe we would easily attain. And we believe Vanessa will easily drive that because we needed someone with that social media following.”
Dr. Mensah-Kabu is the third personality to take on the role following the steps of earlier Icons; the Former Deputy CEO of Free Zones Authority, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, and seasoned journalist, Mamavi Owusu Aboagye.
In her new role, Dr. Mensah-Kabu will work to drive the policy to reach the untapped female market while leveraging her social media following and role as a medical practitioner to engage women about their health.
She shared with Citi Business News her vision for QIC and the Go Girl Policy during her time as ambassador.
“Definitely, we’re to expect a lot for all women in Ghana in terms of getting them that insurance policy that is catered solely for them.”
She added, “We would be talking about everything pertaining to women’s health. So whatever your questions are regarding every stage of a woman’s health, as a doctor on board, I would respond to that. Also we would be donating to and doing a lot with the Korle Bu paediatric cancer unit.”
