Residents welcome new Sakumono Lagoon bridge

Residents of Tema Central and Tema West constituencies have welcomed the construction of a new bridge in their area.

The bridge which goes over the Sakumono lagoon would provide more access to other areas for the residents.

The long-standing traffic congestion on the Nungua Beach Road will be a thing of the past once the construction is completed.

It is also expected to provide quick access to the Tema General Hospital without having to navigate the usual traffic on the Accra-Tema Motorway.

In case of an emergency, people from Lashibi, Klagon, and other nearby communities will be able to access the facility in time.

A resident explained that once the bridge is completed, it will reduce the traffic jam by commuters who use the Ashaiman Underbridge road.

Another commuter was also optimistic about the new structure.

“If you want to go to Nungua, you’ll have to use the community 3 road which is mostly congested leading to delays. Aside from that, the Project will help us from using the Nungua and Ashaiman roads by giving easy access to the Regional Capital” she added.
