#Grammys2022 : Burna Boy Nominated For The Third Time In Succession

Decorated Nigerian singer-songwriter and entertainer Burna Boy once again will be making an appearance at the 2022 Grammys. This will be his third time in succession in three years.

Burna Boy made his debut appearance at the Grammys with his ‘African Giant’ album nominated in the category for ‘Best World Music’ in 2020. Unfortunately, he lost to American-Beninese singer Angelique Kidjoe.

The following year, he pursued his desire for another Grammy nod with the submission of his highly acclaimed album ‘Twice As Tall’ album in the Best Glocal Music album’ category which was considered. He was nominated alongside four others, including Malian band Tinariwen and US band Antibalas, and he won that category giving him his first ever Grammys.

For the third time in a row, Burna Boy has been nominated for the prestigious Grammy Awards, after being nominated in the category of “Best global music performance” for a song titled “Do yourself,” a collaboration with his former contender Angelique Kidjoe.

The Grammy is an award presented by the Recording Academy to recognize achievement in the music industry of the United States and beyond. Held annually, its trophy depicts a gilded gramophone.

The Recording Academy started broadcasting the nominations live by 6PM West African time on Grammy.com, as well as across their social platforms which includes, TwitterTikTok and Facebook pages.
