Norwegian side Viking offer $400,000 for Ghana Premier League star [Asempa FM SportsNite]
Norwegian Eliteserien side Viking FK have made an official bid to sign Ghana international forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh from Hearts of Oak, according to Accra-based Asempa FM.
The Stavanger-based side had an initial offer of $200,000 rejected by Hearts of Oak who still have a valid contract with the 21-year-old Kumasi-born.
According to celebrated broadcast journalist Enoch Worlanyo on Asempa FM’s SportsNite show on Thursday, the 8-time Norwegian champions have presented an improved bid with an offer of $400,000.
The details revealed by the multiple-award-winning journalist claim the Phobians have decided to accept the offer.
Barnieh is currently leading the attacking lines for Ghana’s Black Galaxies who are looking to book a ticket to the 2023 CHAN tournament with a crucial qualifier against Nigeria on Sunday in Cape Coast.
The former CAF U20 AFCON winner has scored 3 goals in 4 games for Ghana at the international level in 2022.
He scored 8 goals in 26 games for Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League in the 2021/22 season.
