UEFA Champions League: Ghanaian midfielder Edmund Addo bosses the midfield as Sheriff Tiraspol record convincing win

Ghanaian youth midfielder Edmund Addo was in superlative form for Moldovan side Sherrif Tiraspol when they recorded a shocking 2-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The 21-year-old was handed a starting role by Tiraspol manager Yuriy Vernydub and he dazzled in the middle for the home side who scored in either half to record an emphatic victory on the opening day of the group games.

Addo, a former player for Senica from Slovakia, recorded the highest passing accuracy in the game with a completion percentage of 94.7% and the joint-highest tackles and interceptions.

Adama Traore steered in a 16th-minute volley before Momo Yansane headed home midway through the second half.

Sherrif is in the same group as Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Donetsk.
