Ugandan forward Steven Mukwala Dese ended his five-game goal drought on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as he netted a brace for Asante Kotoko in their emphatic 4-0 victory over Real Tamale United.
Mukwala, who recently featured for the Cranes of Uganda during the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers, scored on the 47th minute mark through the penalty spot before adding his second goal of the game 17 minutes later.
The 23-year-old’s last goal in the Ghana Premier League came on February 6, 2023 when he registered a brace against Accra Lions in Kumasi.
This is the third time the former Uganda Revenue Sporting Club has scored a brace in the league this season. The striker first registered a brace on matchday 14 against relegation-trapped Kotoku Royals when Kotoko hammered them 5-1.
He got on the double once more when he netted a brace against Accra Lions in a matchday 16 game at the same venue.
