Encourage public policies to support entrepreneurship – David Tengey

Policy makers have been encouraged to critical give maximum attention to entrepreneurship to transform the competences of the youth towards economic growth.

This according to the Executive Director of David Douglas Leadership Forum, David Douglas Tengey will stimulate new employment and accelerate economic development.

Speaking at the 6th Lead Yourself Conference which under the theme: The Importance of Entrepreneurship in National Development, David Douglas Tengey emphasized the need of incorporating entrepreneurship in our educational curricula.

“If we wish to have great and dynamic economy, we must develop indigenous entrepreneurs by equipping them with the necessary capacity to face the challenges of the 21st century. This calls for the active involvement of all economic, social, political, technical institutions and other stakeholders,” he asserted.

“Developing young entrepreneurs is important because they can act as the vehicle of economic growth of the country. By creating new products and services; they stimulate new employment, which ultimately results in the acceleration of economic development,” he added.

Mr. Tengey stressed the need for favorable policies to scale up entrepreneurship “So public policies that encourage and support entrepreneurship should be considered important for economic growth by all political actors”.

The conference was graced by speakers such as Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo and Prof. Pikay Richardson who urged the youth to become more efficient by being innovative.
