The West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP), has dismissed claims of testing or approving Hon Drox drug.
WACCBIP in a release issued on April 27 noted that news circulating of approving such a drug are false.
According to them, “We have not conducted any clinical trials or studies related to this drug, nor have we authorized any person or entity to make such claims on our behalf.”
“The attention of the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP), has been drawn to news making rounds that it was involved in the testing and approval of a product called HON DROX.
“WACCBIP categorically denies any involvement in the manufacture, testing and approval of any such drug by the name HON DROX,” portions of the release stated.
As a result, WACCBIP urged the public to verify any claims of its endorsements.
“We also advise the general public to exercise caution and skepticism towards claims made by self-acclaimed inventors about the safety and effectiveness of drugs,” it added.
