Node 8, Ghana Tech Lab partner on Pathways to Sustainable Employment Program
Node Eight, partners with Ghana Tech Lab organized a local consultative stakeholder assemblage on Saturday, 18th June 2022.
The event is part of the Pathways to Sustainable Employment Program aimed at shining light on the potential of e-commerce in the local digital economy and how it drives youth employment in Ho.
This meeting was themed “The Role of E-Commerce in Transforming the Local Economy for Job Creation and Economic Development.”
Stakeholders from variously identified pillars from our Ecosystem Mapping Exercise (Human Capital, Support, Market, Media and Culture, Finance, Government, and Regulations) in the local sector were in attendance and outlined skill gaps, challenges, opportunities, strategies, and collective policies for transforming the local economy.
The attendees also helped inform and identify the current market needs of industries/companies and skill gaps to help single out interventions to aid bridge or eliminating the skill gap.
The experts also helped to formulate local, actionable, and relevant policies and strategies to further policy advocacy in strategic engagements with regional policymakers.
This meeting is to achieve sustainable development through digital skills and entrepreneurship.
Jeremiah Kpeli, an Investment and Finance Advisor at Ghana Commercial Bank who was the keynote speaker for the day entreated entrepreneurs in Ho to build a good relationship with financial institutions to improve access to loans for business growth.
He also urged entrepreneurs to adopt sustainable financial habits for their business expansion.
