Highly decorated Nigerian singer-songwriter and producer Tems has joined Wizkid as the only African and Nigerian musicians to win this honor.
Tems won the prestigious title for best new artist at the Soul Train Awards in 2022, her second victory there and making her the first and only female African musician to do so. Tems has now won twice, joining Starboy Wizkid as the only other African artists to take home such a coveted honor.
This is one of the singer’s numerous victories in 2022, coupled with three grammy nominations.
Tems continues to excel in numerous fronts, accomplishing extraordinary exploits and shattering previous barriers the Afrobeat genre couldn’t reach.
