Social media users react to #OccupyBoG protest

Ghanaians have taken to social media platform X, formerly Twitter to support the ongoing #OccupyBoG demonstration.

Protesters took to the streets in the early hours of Tuesday, October 3 to vent their frustrations and demands to the government.

The #OccupyBoG demonstration spearheaded by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) seeks the immediate removal of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Ernest Addison and his deputies.

This call stems from what they perceive as gross incompetence on the part of these officials, which they believe has directly contributed to the financial troubles faced by the Bank of Ghana.

The protesters gathered at Obra Spot in Circle, from where they will proceed along Adabraka Road, leading to the City Centre. Their route will take them through Cedi House to Independence Square, where they plan to make a U-turn at the National Lottery Authority, all in an effort to press home their demands.
