IGP assigns clinical psychologist to family of officer killed by his senior colleague in Western North Region
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare has assigned police a clinical psychologist to the family of the late constable shot dead by his senior colleague in the Western North Region.
The clinical psychologist will assist the family with whatever support they may need following the death of their beloved.
This was contained in a press release issued by the police on Saturday.
“A police clinical psychologist has been assigned to the family to support them through this difficult time,” an excerpt of the statement said.
Also per the statement, another team have been assigned to the Western Regional Police Command to provide psycho-social support to them.
“Another team of clinical psychologists has also been deployed to the Western North Police Command to offer psycho-social support to the personnel of the Command following the tragic loss of our colleague,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a Constable in the line of duty.
The Constable died on Friday after he was allegedly shot by one of his senior colleagues at the Western North Regional Command when they were returning from an operation.
The victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
