CWSA has created over 1000 jobs – Dr Kwadjo Siabi

The Chief Executive of Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), Ing. Dr. Worlanyo Kwadjo Siabi says his outfit has created over one thousand job opportunities for the youth.

The Civil Engineer made this statement in a press briefing organised by the Ministry of Information on Sunday, 11th December, 2022.

Dr Siabi highlighted the progress made as well as the challenges faced by the CWSA.

He spoke on the topic, “Transformation in the rural communities and small towns wash sub-sector.”

The Civil Engineer told the public that, “In 2017, CWSA’s workforce was 194 (in the whole of Ghana). As I speak, that was by June, we had a total of 1,446. It means that we have created new jobs of 1,252.”

Dr. Siabi also emphasised that the aforementioned employed individuals are not a burden on the government because their salaries are paid for with revenue generated from the sale of water.

“And all of these new jobs are being paid from the sale of water. So, we rehabilitate, we employ our young colleagues, and they go there and turn things around. And with the generated revenue, we use it to pay them. So, this is not a burden on government. This is job creation,” he noted.
