Shooting Stars sign partnership agreement with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund
Division Two side Shooting Stars have signed a partnership agreement with German side Borussia Dortmund.
Shooting Stars, a club based in the Ashanti Region, is under the ownership of Isaac Ansah.
“The budding partnership between Shooting Stars and Borussia Dortmund is beneficial on and off the field and there is a keen focus on player and coach development as well as a focus on fan engagement,” the founder of Shooting Stars spoke on the partnership between the two clubs
“Both parties are keen on improving the community and will be embarking a few Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in the coming years,” he added
This collaboration follows the likes of Kotoko-Southampton and Hearts of Oak-Hoffenheim partnerships which have been beneficial to all parties.
There was a cocktail reception event at Kwae Terrace on November 26th where visiting BVB Dortmund delegates and Shooting Stars FC officials met with key partners looking to come on board for the event.
Some Key figures in attendance were Ibrahim Tanko, an ex-Borussia Dortmund player who is also the coach of Shooting Stars, Anthony Baffour, who spent most of his football playing career in the Bundesliga, Manifest, a renowned rapper from Ghana, Julia Farr, and Nils Janzen, both visiting delegates from BVB Dortmund.
It followed with a BVBGH watch party, with the official BVB fan club in Ghana in attendance at Honeysuckle where the Wolfsburg vs Dortmund game was televised.
Shooting Stars and visiting Borussia Dortmund delegates got to interact and bond with members of the fan club and it showed promising signs of a long-lasting partnership to come.
Delegates of both clubs also met with key officials from the ministry of youth and sports, the GFA, GHALCA, and other key stakeholders to discuss events and other key activities which will take place in 2022.
With the official launch of this deal being in March 2022, Shooting Stars under the auspices of the Ghana Football Association will host football legends from the Bundesliga and Champions League Club, Borussia Dortmund on a 4-day visit to Ghana.
The visit will comprise of coaching clinics for young and upcoming footballers, meetings with football partners, and workshops to discuss Borussia Dortmund’s role in Ghanaian football, amongst others.
The highlight of the visit to Ghana will be a historic football match between Borussia Dortmund greats and a line-up of former Ghanaian and African Bundesliga football legends.
This event is an excellent opportunity for football fans and other stakeholders of the game to interact and have first-hand conversations with legends from the continent as well as from Borussia Dortmund.
