Fafali Organization supports Tweapease Senior High School with sporting items

The Fafali Organization on Friday, June 17 2022 donated some sporting items to the Tweapease Senior High School in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

In a ceremony attended by the CEO of the Fafali Organization, Senyo Sosu and the Programs Coordinator, Pablo Weeden, on behalf of the organization, football items like soccer nets, jerseys, and long football socks were donated to the school as part of our sports program.

The ceremony also saw in attendance the Director of Education/Headmistress of Tweapease Senior High School, the Assistant Headmaster, Sports master, Heads of Departments, as well as all students of the institution.

This donation came as a timely support for the school, which had been kitted in the same soccer jerseys for many years and was starting to lose hope of getting a replacement as they were in a sporting month.

Sosu, who is the CEO of the Fafali Organization shared with all present, the mission of the organization, and what they have planned to implement in the school.

“Making an impact is one of our (Fafali) hallmarks and your school has been one dearly on our hearts because of Eric Kpaja (Head of Mathematics Department). He (Eric) was part of the board members of our organization and served for one (1) term duly, before moving back into the teaching field. Eric has since then been asking for this favour (receiving support from the organization) and because of him, we have come this far to support,” Senyo Sosu said.

He also promised that the organization (Fafali) has a lot of stuff to help the school with and most especially in the sports sector.

Through their partnership with KitAid Africa, a UK-based nonprofit organization that recycles once loved football kits and sporting materials, and distributes to underprivileged children and adults in some of the world’s poorest countries, the organization (Fafali) regularly receives sporting materials to support the Ball & Brain project, Golf & Goal project, Coach the Coaches Course, as well as the community as a whole.

As a nonprofit organization, Fafali then extends its helping hands to needy institutions like schools, churches, community fun groups, governmental institutions, and many others. It is as a result of this, the organization supported Tweapease Senior High School with jerseys, football socks, and soccer nets.

Tweapease Senior High School, a school in Tweapease on the Obuasi – Dunkwa road, is a community school that was managed by the people of the community until 2018 when it became a government-run public school. The school has since seen no improvement in infrastructure as expected. The school lacks basic amenities like office space for headmasters, accommodating classroom blocks, and a school pitch for sporting activities amongst others.

The donation to the school was termed as a timely intervention by the Director of Education, Amansie Central and the headmistress of the school, Mrs Nana Pokuaa Amoako.

“We are in a sporting month where we will be doing a whole lot of activities, so if by God’s grace we’ve been able to get some of these items, I know it’s going to go a long way to help the school and so, we are grateful,” Mrs Amoako said.

She also pleaded with the organization to even do more when there is an opening for a donation, citing the famous Oliver Twist quote “please, sir, I want some more”.

Narrating how far the school has come in order to have their own jersey, Mr. Salifu Sumaila Tiibo, Assistant Headmaster, Tweapease Senior High said, “We had to go to a basic school to ask for help and collect their jersey because we didn’t have any”.

This lack of basic amenities has not deprived Tweapease of putting in maximum efforts at all their sporting outings. Prior to the donation by the Fafali Organization, they (Tweapease) had eliminated all their opponents along the way to book a spot in the regional handball competition.

The Fafali Organization is willing to support institutions just like Tweapease Senior High School. Fewer facilities but great will to be the best. The organization is looking forward to extending its annual Coach the Coaches course to the secondary school level.

The Programs Coordinator, Pablo Weeden, admonished students to take sports serious as it has enormous benefits to their mental and physical well-being as well as creating opportunities for them to make it out of their current states and create lasting legacies for themselves and generations after them.
The Fafali organization directly impacts about 5,000 individuals annually and also about 70,000 individuals are indirectly impacted annually.

Fafali Organization is using this medium to call on all well-meaning individuals and Governmental agencies who can assist the school in any way possible to reach higher heights as we believe this school has the makings of an elite school. Some of the items the school needs help with are; a computer laboratory, library complex, and more sporting items to aid in sports development.
