Volta Serene Hotel ushers in Christmas with Carols Service

Volta Serene Hotel in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region has ushered in Christmas with a glamorous Carol Service Night over the weekend.

It was a night of celebration, characterized by singing and dancing, as people from the business community, academia, and public servants amongst others joined the staff of the Hotel to celebrate the night.

A host of dignitaries including the Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Letsa, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Prof Lydia Aziato, and Executive Chairman of First Sky Group of Companies, Eric Seddy Kutortse read the nine lessons of the night.

Symphonials, VV Choir, and Serene Choir were at hand to intersperse the readings, serving patrons with Christmas Carols and other indigenous songs.

A sermon by the Ho Diocesan Financial Administrator, Father John Peter Agage, focused on Christmas reflecting the unconditional love of God towards humanity when He sent His son to reconcile sinful humanity to Himself.

“He came to invite us to the love and mercy of God. Each year the celebration of Christmas reminds us of God’s love for all of us. It is an invitation to all of us to turn to the Father and have new lives. New life is given to us all in Jesus Christ, but it is only effective if we repent from our sinful ways and accept Jesus Christ as our personal saviour”, he said.

The Chief Executive Officer of Volta Serene Hotel, Mrs Rhoda Ashabi urged Christians to let the characteristics of Christmas reflect in their lives.

She, however, underscored the importance of protecting the country’s peace during the 9th general elections in the fourth Republic.

“Our theme for this evening’s service, “Peace on earth, and Goodwill to all men” taken from Luke 2:14 could not have come at a better moment than now, in view of the recognition that 2024 is a very important year for us all.

A year in which we will conduct our general elections. Our solemn prayer is that let us preserve, protect, and seal the peace God has blessed this nation of ours with and demonstrate brotherly goodwill among ourselves as one people”, she said.

The General Manager of Volta Serene Hotel shed light on his outfit’s corporate social responsibility in 2023, which he said amounted to over GhC800,000.

He said this included the provision of relief support to Akosombo Dam spillage flood victims, educational support, health support, and festival and cultural promotion among others.
