2021 AFCON: GFA former President Kwesi Nyantakyi predicts these FOUR countries will excel at the AFCON [Onua TV]

Former Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has predicted that these four countries will excel at the 2021 AFCON tournament which kicks start on Sunday in Cameroon.

24 countries are competing for the ultimate title at stake at the continental showpiece with giants Ivory Coast, Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, and Mali making representation at the tournament.

West African side Mali has emerged as a recent force on the African continent and former CAF First Vice President Kwesi Nyantakyi who spent 13 years at the helm of the GFA has run the rule on which countries are likely to excel at the tournament.

“Mali has invested massively in the development of players at the grassroots level. GMG Academy for instance has been doing great work at this. This has positioned Mali as one of the favourites for the tournament. Senegal, Morocco, and Algeria are the countries who can excel at the tournament,” he told Captain Smart on Onua TV.

Speaking on the expectations on Ghana’s Black Stars he urged Ghanaians to continue to pray for the team.

Ghana has not won the AFCON title since the 1982 edition in Libya which extends the West Africans’ trophilessness at the AFCON to 40 years.

The Black Stars suffered a 3-0 humiliating loss to Algeria in the final preparatory game for the tournament.
