LATEST: Ex-Kotoko board member lobbying for Fred Achee to be appointed CEO of Porcupine Warriors

A former Asante Kotoko board member has hinted Ghana Sports Online about the imminent appointment of Frederick Acheampong, Fred Achee, as the next CEO of the Porcupine Warriors.

Earlier today Achee refuted the reports, claiming that he hasn’t discussed his appointment with his of his friends.

In July 2020 during an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Achee tagged the Kotoko CEO job as one of the biggest football positions in the world.

Manhyia, the seat of the authority at the club, has dissolved the Board of the club and the management led by Nana Yaw Amponsah.

Kwame Aboagye Mensah, personal assistant to Kofi Badu, the Chief of Staff of Manhyia, has confirmed the dissolution of the board and management on Accra-based Asempa FM.

Ghana Sports Online sources have revealed that a former Kotoko board member has been actively lobbying for the role to be given to Achee who was forced to resign from his role at AshantiGold in April 2020.

The former broadcast journalist has failed twice as chairman of Ghana’s U23 side after failing to qualify Ghana to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games as well as the Paris 2024 Games.
