EXCLUSIVE: Fred Achie tells close friends about impending Kotoko CEO appointment
Frederick Acheampong, popularly known as Fred Achie, has told his confidants that he will be named the next Chief Executive Officer of giants Asante Kotoko.
Manhyia, the seat of the authority at the club, has dissolved the Board of the club and the management led by Nana Yaw Amponsah. Kwame Aboagye Mensah, personal assistant to Kofi Badu, the Chief of Staff of Manhyia, has confirmed the dissolution of the board and management on Accra-based Asempa FM.
The dissolution has put a number of aspirants on high alert with interest from multiple administrators who want to lead the club.
Ghana Sports Online has been told a confidant of Frederick Acheampong that the former AshantiGold SC CEO will be named the next leader of the club.
Accra-based journalist Listowell Mensah confirmed the speculations via his Twitter handle as he tweeted about the reports.

Achie was the management committee chairman for Ghana’s U23 side that were booted out of the U23 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
The 2023 edition wasn’t the first Fred Achie has failed as the leader of Ghana’s U23 side at the U23 AFCON tournament as he also led the team in 2019 in Egypt where Ghana failed to reach the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
He was also fired as CEO of AshantiGold in April 2020.
