Ghana Premier League: Elmina Sharks 0-1 Hearts of Oak – Super-sub Gladson Awako climbs off the bench to claim first win for Phobians

Hearts of Oak recorded their first win of the season with a vital 1-0 triumph over Elmina Sharks in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday afternoon.

Substitute Gladson Awako smashed home the match-winner with a 25 yards effort after he intercepted a ball inside the vital area.

Both teams finished the game with ten men each after Sharks captain Suraj Ibrahim was shown a second yellow card on 76 minutes while Salifu Ibrahim also received his marching orders 7 minutes from time.

The former TP Mazembe midfield dynamo fired a falling leave effort that sailed with an unstoppable zeal into Lord Bawa Mantey’s post.

Despite the win, Hearts of Oak still remain in the drop zone though they have moved from the basement of the table.
