Kotoko board makes SHOCKING statement on Prosper Ogum’s resignation
Asante Kotoko‘s Board of Directors have issued a statement on the status of Prosper Ogum at the club.
Ogum, 47, suddenly decided against staying at the record league winners as reports claimed on Wednesday afternoon that he had tendered in his resignation.
According to multiple media reports, the Kumasi-based club called a meeting to review the club’s performance and also discuss matters including player recruitment, the youth teams, and their upcoming campaign in the CAF Champions League.
It was during this meeting that Ogum reportedly verbally resigned from his role following a disagreement over the club’s transfer policy ahead of the 2022/23 season.
However, the board of directors of the club have issued a statement signed by Kwamina Mensah, Esq. insisting Ogum hasn’t formally communicated his decision to the governing body.
However, on Thursday, the Administration and Operations Manager of the club, Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, confirmed to Graphic Online that the coach has resigned.
Meanwhile, it is also worth noting that board meeting minutes are considered in legal matters and if indeed Ogum informed the board of his resignation, then it can be considered as he formally communicating his decision to the board.
A section of the Kotoko fraternity is urging the governing body to step into the matter and convince the ex-WAFA trainer to rescind his decision to quit the club.
