Hearts of Oak dares Yussif Chibsah in bribery allegation against former African champions
Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak are demanding that former Asante Kotoko midfielder Yussif Chibsah provides evidence of his bribery allegation made against the club.
Chibsah, 39, has told Accra-based Joy FM that an unnamed official of the Rainbow Club made attempts to influence some players of King Faisal to play a match of convenience in the matchday 29 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Phobians won the tie 2-0 with Salifu Ibrahim and Linda Mtange scoring two late goals.
Despite Hearts’ obvious struggle to victory in the tie, Chibsah has openly claimed and suggested that the 2000 CAF Champions League winners bribed some players of the relegation-trapped side.
Hearts have issued an official statement to rebuff the claims and dared the former Ghana U23 captain to provide details on the identity of the official who attempted to bribe the King Faisal player.
Below is the statement.
