Uzbekistan coach Bakhodir Akhmedov is keen to see fans feel truly proud about his Uzbekistan side as the White Wolves secured a perfect passage to the quarter-final of the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup on Saturday.
The four-time runner-ups recorded a hat-trick of victories, beating Turkmenistan, Bahrain, and Tajikistan in the process.
In a performance that impressed everyone, the Uzbek side scored 17 goals and conceded just 3 in three games.
Iraq, hosts Kuwait, and Thailand are all likely quarter-final oppositions for Uzbekistan.
After coming close to winning the trophy on 4 different occasions, the head coach wants to change the script.
“I want to win. I want to make everyone in Uzbekistan happy,” he responded to a question posed by Ghana Sports Online’s El Akyereko during the post-match press conference.
Offensive midfielder Usmonov Akbar won the most Valuable Player of the Match Award.
