Asante Kotoko files formal complaints against referee Yao Bless in draw against Hearts

Asante Kotoko has formally lodged complaints at the Ghana Football Association against referee Selorm Yao Bless and the assisting officials in their match day three encounter against Accra Hearts of Oak in the Betpawa Ghana Premier League.

The first Super Clash of the 2022/23 Premier League season ended in a stalemate at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, September 25.
It was the Porcupines who took the lead through defender, Yusif Muabrik in the 55th minute after connecting to rebound from a free kick.

However, Caleb Amankwah scored late in the game to secure a point for Hearts of Oak and ensure the Phobians avoid a second defeat this season.

After the game, fans of the Kumasi based club who believe their side should have won the game took to social media to express disaffection with the officiating on the day.

This was further reiterated by the club who posted video highlights of the possible incidents waived off by the match officials.

The club subsequently announced on its Twitter handle that it has filed a formal complaint against the match officials

“The club after a careful study of yesterday’s game footage has filed a Complaint with the GFA against the decisions of the officiating officials” the statement read.

Kotoko will be in action again in the betPawa Ghana Premier League on Wednesday, 28th September against Nsoatreman FC.
