Ghana Premier League: Kotoko 2-0 Bechem Utd – Black Stars defender Ganiyu & Samuel Boateng strike late as Porcupine Warriors display resilience against Hunters

Asante Kotoko highlighted their supreme character by scoring two late goals to defeat Bechem United 2-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.

Black Stars defender Abdul Ismail Ganiyu converted from the spot 3 minutes from time before Samuel Boateng nailed the coffin of the hunters with a 94th-minute finish.

Prosper Ogum’s side began the game well with youngster Isaac Amoako displaying pace and skill on the wings but Bechem settled into the game with Abdul Latif Anabila and Augustine Okrah pulling the strings from midfield.

The visitors held Kotoko for most parts of the game, but with three minutes left to the end, Kotoko won a penalty after substitute Isaac Oppong was hacked inside the box.

Ganiyu elected and converted the kick for Kotoko.

Deep into stoppage-time Samuel Boateng sealed to win to send Kotoko to the top of the league table.
